So today, I am going to pull some information about modesty from a wonderful pamphlet called; "For the Strength of Youth" Written by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The men who wrote this pamphlet are the apostles of today!
Under the section of Dress and Appearance, it reads:
"Your body is sacred. Respect it and do not defile it in any way. Through your dress and appearance, you can show that you know how precious your body is...When you are well groomed and modestly dressed, you invite the companionship of the Spirit and you can be a good influence on others...DO NOT use a special occasion as an excuse to be immodest. When you dress immodestly, you send a message that is contrary to your identity as a son or daughter of God. You also send the message that you are using your body to get attention and approval."
You know what is modest and immodest. Take the advice of the apostles and the prophet, and our Heavenly Father. Be a modest person every day.
Another part of modesty is how you talk and think. The for Strength of Youth Pamphlet also states:
" How you communicate should reflect who you are as a son or daughter of God. Clean and intelligent language is evidence of a bright and wholesome mind...our words, like our deeds, should be filled with faith, hope, and charity...Do not tell jokes or stories about immoral actions."
If you want to be modest, don't only dress modestly, but act modestly too. Heavenly Father wants you to succeed. You will go much farther if you will make modesty a priority.
Good luck!
