I know that prom is coming up soon, and I would just like to help everybody here know that they are daughters of God. I would also like to remind everybody that they know what Heavenly Father wants them to dress like.
I know that it is really hard to find modest dresses! Even here in St. George it is hard to find a good dress that is modest, fits you well, and is unique! They might even be more expensive!!! Everywhere around us are beautiful works of art, that are sadly, way too revealing. And it is hard to remember who you are when everything like that is around you! It is hard to find a dress that screams; "I am a Daughter of God. Deal with it." at you.
It is also really tempting to buy a dress that is unmodest because sadly, Satan has made those types of dresses to look cuter than the modest ones. They have more fun of prints and jewels and the way they flow around you is better most of the time. All of the modest dresses are the same. So it is really hard not to choose something with less of a sleeve, or a lower neck, or a little bit too high above your knees.
Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. I am at the point of my life where I have to start finding prom dresses and semi-formal dresses and even dresses for church. It is way hard!!! How come nobody carries good, modest stuff anymore?
It is also hard when you know some boys that will just ask a girl because she WILL wear something innapropriate. It is also hard when boys are telling you that they won't ask you because the only fun part about prom is the unmodesty and looking at girls who wear that stuff. Many people are doing and saying these things!! Here in St. George UTAH!
I just can't believe all of the people that think it is okay to wear things that are too revealing. Besides, what is the fun in having to wear something so low or so short that you can't bend over and you have to keep pulling it up, and you can't even really dance or you will be talked about all around the school for days because you flashed someone at the dance!
Point is...I know it is hard to find modest dresses. But is it worth is? YES IT IS!!!!! You will be more comfortable, so will the guy, and you will have a much better time. Trust me. Besides you won't have to worry about any tan lines.
